Note: Years listed are based on real-world expectations rather than product marketing. Some have been lab- or real-world-tested beyond the above category. Our 5+ years range includes 6-8-year tested coatings. We feel 5 years is a realistic lifespan with daily use in WA conditions. Participating in our maintenance program or regular care with another professional detailer specialising in coatings may see longer performance than listed.

Additional show jeweling may be performed for an additional cost. Our standard polishing will provide a beautiful, high-gloss finish that will satisfy most owners. We use several different high-quality waxes selected to suit your vehicle and use. Our waxes are built on high-grade T1 Carnuba wax blended with compounds such as polymers, fluorine, Ceramic, and Graphite to increase durability and hydrophobicity.A ceramic coating provides a protective layer over your car’s clear coat, providing many benefits to your vehicle:
- Resistance to environmental contaminants such as dirt, bird droppings, bug splatter and tree sap
- Preventing oxidation and corrosion of the paintwork
- Deep glossy shine locking in a fresh polish for the life of the coating
- Self-cleaning properties keep it looking clean between washes
- Slickness prevents damage from dirt on the surface
- Hydrophobic properties reject water, preventing staining from acid rain and hard water spotting
This answer is a bit more complex than the question.
Coatings’ lifespan is often misunderstood by the advertised ‘x years’ durability’
Durability is tested through lab experiments for the number of washes before the coating loses its hydrophobicity or debonds from the surface. This is averaged for the typical washes per year.
The actual lifespan varies depending on how well the coating is maintained through washing and decontamination, as well as the vehicle's usage (garaged vs. outside, weekender, mud machine, etc.) and environmental factors.
For this reason, many are moving away from lifespan claims and focusing on tailoring the coating’s unique properties to your vehicle and lifestyle. We only select high-quality coatings with strong reputations in the professional community.
In the real world, you can expect 3-5 years from a regularly maintained coating.
We can also ‘top-up’ your coating by applying a sacrificial layer of ceramic over the surface, extending its durability (+1-2 years). This is a true ceramic, not a spray ceramic/detailer that only temporarily boosts its performance.
In Most cases, coating will need to be in-house for a full day of work with pickup the next day after curing.
The reason for this is that the preparation phase can be quite time-consuming, with 6hrs best-case scenario to properly wash, decontaminate and paint correction. Severe cases could take up to 30 hours.
The coating application itself is fairly efficient; however requires a controlled environment and proper lighting to ensure no contaminants, proper curing and identification of defects. Each coating cures at different speeds; some may be ready to drive in the elements after 1hr others as long as 48 hours.
We do have a few coatings that are suitable for application in a mobile environment. These are in our 1 and 3-year range.
You will need an area out of direct sunlight and dusty winds, such as a garage or carport. A garage is more suitable for polishing so that light can be controlled.
We will be able to give you an approximate time frame after booking, or email us with some high-quality photos of your vehicle and paintwork for an estimate.
